Friday's game
Seaside (1-8) at Alvarez (1-8), 7:30 p.m.
Clearly it hasn't been the season both teams anticipated, with both having one win over Gilroy.
The culture change at Alvarez is a process over time while Seaside's lack of depth has crippled them in the Gabilan Division.
The Spartans do have some momentum after snapping a nine game losing streak that dated back to last year, scoring late in the fourth quarter to earn their first win last week.
Alvarez played inspired last week, erupting for a season high 35 points. In fact, it was tied at 35 in the fourth quarter before Christopher scored the games last 13 points.
The Eagles struggles have been slow starts, having been outscored 99-7 in the first quarter in eight losses this year.
The same can be said for the Spartans, who have produced just one touchdown in the first quarter all season.
Jacob Salinas has been a bright spot for Seaside, having scored the game-winning touchdown against Gilroy.
Alvarez did produce a special teams touchdown last week.
