The only coach Scotts Valley has had since its inception 20 years ago, Louie Walters is coaching his last game Friday night.
After a promising 3-1 start to the season, the Falcons have been ravaged by injuries in dropping four of their last five.
The Vikings have also dropped four of their last five since knocking off Cypress Division champion Monterey six weeks ago.
Rabobank Stadium has not felt like home for North Salinas. Dating back to last year, it has dropped nine straight games.
North Salinas is 2-2 this year in games decided by a touchdown or less. Offensively, it has produced just 13 points in its last two games.
The Vikings defense has to neutralize Scotts Valley quarterback Kyle Rajala, who leads the team in rushing touchdowns and touchdown passes.
Matt Morales and Joe Zazueta have carried the ground game most of the fall for North Salinas while Elijah Washington has given them another weapon with his legs at quarterback.
