Playoff thoughts

 A share of the Gabilan Division title will likely give Salinas the No. 1 seed in the Division I playoffs.
 But hold on.
 If Palma were to fall in its league finale to Alvarez, that would change things significantly for the Cowboys.
 Because that would give Salinas the title outright and catapult them into the Open Division.
 Palma would likely drop down to Division IV, where it would become an instant favorite.
 If Palma and Salinas share the title, the Chieftains will go into the Open Division based on having more points and having beaten Salinas this year.
 Alvarez appears ticketed for Division I as well. A win over Palma could strengthen its hold on a top three seed
 Monterey will likely be in Division III instead of Division IV, where Carmel and Pacific Grove will be seeded.
 On the outside looking in right now is North County and Soledad.
