Co champions of the Santa Cruz Coast Athletic League, the Knights were swept in their season opener by Notre Dame on Sept. 5.
Yet, since losing two of its first three, Soquel has gone 19-3. Two players have compiled nearly 200 kills apiece, including 6-foot-2 outside hitter Sarah Savoca.
Five of Notre Dame's eight losses this fall have come from Salinas or San Benito. Emily Cunanan and Nikki DeSerpa have fed off precise sets all season from Erin DeSerpa.
Last year the Spirits reached the CCS Division V finals. Notre Dame hasn't won a section title since 2004.
