North Salinas-Gilroy football

Friday's game
North Salinas (6-3) at Gilroy (5-4), 7:30 p.m.
It's no mystery in facing Gilroy. Stop Brandon Boyd.
After seven consecutive games with 200 or more rushing yards -- including three games with 300 plus yards on the ground -- Boyd has been held under 100 yards the last two weeks.
The Mustangs have dropped both games. Still, Boyd has rushed for 2,105 yards and 28 touchdowns. And that should get North Salinas' attention.
Of those 28 rushing touchdowns, 10 have been of 40 yards or longer. In addition, Boyd has returned a pair of kickoffs 90 plus yards for touchdowns.
In its three losses this fall, North Salinas has allowed an opposing running back to rush for over 100 yards.
The Vikings are averaging 43.3 points a game in their six wins behind quarterback Justyn Gutierrez.
North Salinas has had a week to gear up for Gilroy. A win and it's in the playoffs. A loss and it is turning in uniforms on Saturday.
