 It's happened just five times in the 41 year history of the Central Coast Section playoffs.
 Two teams from the Mission Trail Athletic League won a playoff game in the same season.
 Carmel and Pacific Grove both won their Division IV openers on Friday.
 The last time two teams from the MTAL accomplished the feat was in 1997 when Palma and Stevenson opened the postseason with wins.
 In 1996, Palma and Gonzales both won their playoff openers.
 Prior to that, you'd have to go back to 1986 when San Benito and Palma both won playoff games as members of the MTAL.
 And in 1980, North County and Palma won playoff openers.
