Center-guard Evan Smith was claimed off waivers today by the Seattle Seahawks.
The Salinas graduate, who was released by Green Bay on Sunday after one season, will be a part of the Seahawks opening day roster this Sunday when they face the 49ers.
The 6-foot-2, 307-pound Smith made the Packers roster last season as an undrafted free agent.
