It appears that Monica Abbott will launch her professional softball career in Japan.
Abbott has been working out in Salinas, after taking a short break following the Olympics to get her degree at the University of Tennessee.
The most prolific pitcher in NCAA history, the 6-foot-3 lefthander helped the United States win an Olympic silver medal by not allowing an earned run in four appearances.
Japan is considered the best venue in the world for professional softball.
