When you have suffered six straight losses — to one team over three years — it has to weigh in the back of your mind.
Sure the players on the Stevenson roster weren't around when the string of losses to Pacific Grove began. Than again, they were, likely playing freshman basketball.
You can bet they are aware of it entering Friday's battle among 3-0 teams in the MTAL. And it does play in the back of your mind.
I like the makeup of Stevenson's roster this year. It's ripe for a title. Still, this is Pacific Grove, owners of the last two league titles, not to mention a string of 35 straight league wins.
Stevenson is well aware that a double digit lead in the final two minutes isn't safe.

Since the 1999 season, PG has only lost 8 league games...two to Carmel in 2005, one to RLS and Carmel in 2002, two to King City and one to Carmel in 2001 and one to RLS in 2000. That sort of defines league domination.
Friday is going to tell us whether the change promised by the new Obama adminstration extends all the way down to the MTAL.
