I believe King City is a lock for its 26th straight playoff berth, even if it ends up in third place in the Mission Trail Athletic League.
King City currently sits in a tie for second with Carmel, whom it has another match with in eight days.
Monterey dropped eight of its last 10 preseason matches. Yet, a Monterey Bay League title is within grasp if it can avenge its only league loss Tuesday to Pajaro.
A cast of unknowns have worked as one at Monterey to turn their season around. Now if their coach would just stop hyperventilating, it would make their job easier.

King City needs to finish 2nd in league or they wont make the playoffs. If they beat Catalina tonight and Carmel next week they are in, if they lose either game, they are out. They are a great team with a great tradition of winning, I hope they find a way.
