Stevenson is going to make every attempt to play Saturday's football game against Carmel to avoid a second straight forfeit.
The hope is that 20 players will be in uniform. A more realistic number is 17.
But is this game being played for the right reasons?
Could it be because the junior varsity is undefeated and wants a shot at two-time JV champion Carmel?
Or is this game being played for the eight seniors that are still healthy enough to put on the pads for their final home game.
Let's hope these six players that came up were players making contributions on the JV's, not backups, who have no business playing at this level.
Otherwise this has disaster spelled all over it.I applaud the players that remain for wanting to see it through.
But this will be nothing more than a glorified scrimmage for Carmel. I guess that's better than not playing at all.
