A six-hour flight home, followed by a two-plus hour drive will get North Salinas back just in time to compete Tuesday in a cross country meet at Natividad Park in Salinas.

For 17 members of the Vikings cross country team, they spent four days in New York, taking part in the Manhattan Invitational, touring a few college campuses, seeing two plays on Broadway and touring sites -- on foot.
There's no time for resting in the Big Apple.
Yet, I'm betting they don't jog in Tuesday's meet.
