Let's not make this a forum for bashing Palma. I agree with one of the comments that this is an isolated incident.
I mean, you wouldn't see this in football or basketball. Then again, you can't hide along a trail where just a handful of people come out to watch anyway.
Yeah, Palma pulled the plug on the City Meet in track last spring, but I understood that move. It was four days before the TCAL trials.
Track muscles are a little different. As a former 300 hurdler, I know hamstrings tend to tighten when meets are too close late in the season.
The City Meet for track should be moved up.
But the City Meet for cross country is three weeks before the league finals. Palma had a meet it deemed important four days after the City Meet in Fresno.
That's fine. Then don't show up for the City Meet and giggle around the course.
Notre Dame had a part in this as well. But that's a product of following Palma's lead. That will change once their coaches gather a little more experience. Trust me, they'll learn from this.
