Most don't think Palma matches up with Gilroy. And as we've seen all year, few teams do match up against the unbeaten Mustangs.
In fact, had you asked me last Friday, I likely would have said Gilroy by at least 10 points.
But......
Weather could play a role this Friday.
It's suppose to rain. The game is on a grass field at the Salinas Sports Complex.
Anyone remember last year when Gilroy went to Pacific Grove to play on a rain soaked field?
Pacific Grove actually held a halftime lead as Gilroy couldn't get its pass-happy attack going.
On a damp grass field, it will bother Gilroy's offense, which is based on timing. Of course, Palma will suffer the same fate.
But the Chieftains can run the ball out of the "I' formation or 'Fly'. I'm not sold on Gilroy's running game.
