49er debacle

Wow.
When new 49ers head coach Mike Singletary said he wasn't going to change much, he wasn't kidding.
And now the 49ers have a five-game losing streak and sit at the bottom of the NFC West. Didn't someone predict that in a column eight weeks ago? Yeah I did.
The thing is, this was a game the 49ers were capable of winning. Instead, it was their worst effort of the year.
I will say this. Singletary did do two things former coach Mike Nolan wouldn't have.
He told overpaid and overrated tight end Vernon Davis to leave the field in the fourth quarter after the 2005 first round bust sat on the bench and pouted while the offense was on the field.
And he benched quarterback J.T. O'Sullivan just before halftime. After eight games, we now know why O'Sullivan has been cut by seven other teams.
He leads the NFL in fumbles, fires at least an interception a game and does little inside the 20-yard line.
This team has no identity.
