All the negative publicity Stallworth Academy of Stockton has brought to itself with its deception of who it really is has only fueled Monterey's fire to play them.
No doubt, Monterey thought it was facing a cream puff when it agreed back in March to host the first year program. Instead, it picked up a team with 19 studs.
Of course, that's all Stallworth has. The Toreadores could've backed out and no one would have argued. Remember this team said it was Samuel Hancock.
Three teams have already canceled football games with Hancock --- I mean Stallworth because it misrepresented itself.
First year programs don't pick up eight transfers, or have Division I prospects.
Chalk it up to Monterey coach Pete Noble's stubbornness. He has challenged his kids. He doesn't do anything without a purpose.
Stallworth, a member of the SAC-Joaquin Section, better hope it's in a league next year. Otherwise this might be the last game it plays.
