If Stevenson cancels its varsity season as expected today, there's a good chance that its junior varsity season will be over as well.
Several coaches in the MTAL have said they will not play a junior varsity game with Stevenson if there is no varsity game.
Most opposing coaches feel that Stevenson could bring up seven or eight of its sophomores to help fill out the roster. The Pirates have 41 players on the junior varsity.
Stevenson held a team meeting Tuesday. Just 12 players are healthy enough to play. Last week the Pirates were down to three linemen.
