If no one from the junior varsity is willing to come up, it's time to pull the plug on the Stevenson varsity football season.
Four more players reportedly suffered concussion like symptoms in last weeks loss to Soledad, dropping the Pirates to 0-4.
Stevenson finished the game with 12 players. While I applaud the players for wanting to continue their season, fatigue is becoming a factor.
Why a kid on the JV team would not want to earn his varsity block as a sophomore is beyond me.
At Carmel, nine sophomores help make up the roster. At Stevenson, just one sophomore is up while 22 remain at the JV level.
Stevenson will make a decision later this week on whether to forfeit Friday's game at Greenfield.
The last known forfeit was in the mid-90's when North County forfeited a game after a hazing incident involving the football team.
