A different look on the diamond

The sight of Savanah Skelton swinging a bat wasn't a big deal.
Until you realized that she's playing baseball for North County, not softball.
Skelton is believed to be the first female to play varsity baseball in the Monterey Bay League.
Remember, there is a softball program --- and a good one --- at North County.
Skelton made a pinch hitting appearance in the Condors 10-8 win over Seaside.
As for teh game, it was big for North County, who gained a measure of redempton after falling to Seaside on Wednesday.
While the league is only two games out, a second loss to the same team could have come back to haunt the Condors.
