Hold off on all those eulogies at Carmel.
Sure the baseball program is in a retooling faze with a new coaching staff that inherited a team gutted by graduation.
Yet, to suggest the Padres 11-year strangle hold on the Mission Trail Athletic League is over would be ---- shall we say a bit premature.
No doubt, they have come back to the pack. And Pacific Grove and King City appear to have taken a step forward. Soledad and Stevenson can't be ignored either.
Carmel, though, still has history and a reputation.
What I'm saying is some teams are just in other teams' head, no matter what.
That happens when you dominate for 11 years.
