regaining their reputation

If Notre Dame is looking to make a statement, beating reigning Central Coast Section Division II champion Mitty Thursday would be a step in the right direction.
Of course, Notre Dame does not play in Division II, it plays in Division III, where it had won a CCS record nine straight titles prior to last spring.
Getting back to the section finals may be a taller task than in previous years. For starters, defending champion Notre Dame-Belmont is in intact.
So is Stevenson, who possess one of the top pitchers in the section in Caroline Main.
The Spirits, though, are 5-0 for a reason. This team does not have that Division I caliber player of past years. But overall, it's a more athletic and dynamic.
If the season ended today, the Spirits likely won't be there. But the finals are in 73 days. That's a lot of time to mature.
