 One way to prepare yourself for league play is to face 'A' division opponents, and that is what Alisal is doing over the next two weeks.
 Last week the Trojans snapped a six-year season opening losing streak. Last fall they stopped a five-year losing streak to Alvarez with a 20-14 decision.
 Alvarez showed promise last week, holding the lead until the final minute in a 31-28 loss to reigning Cypress Division champion Monterey.
 While both teams like to grind and wear down defenses with the run, each showed a new wrinkle in their offenses with touchdown passes.
 Braden Arriaga-Lopez accounted for three touchdowns last week for the Eagles, two on the ground and one through the air.
 As impressive as Alisal was in taking down reigning Santa Lucia champion Gonzales, it has to clean up the mental mistakes, which shut down a couple of drives.
