Seaside-San Benito football

Thursday's game
Seaside (0-7) vs. San Benito (4-3) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
The Spartans have struggled offensively, having failed to produce a point in the first half in four Gabilan Division games -- and just six points in their last 12 quarters.
Clearly it's taking a tole on the defense, which has spent a lot of time on the field, having given up 60 points in the second half in their last three games. Injuries are also becoming a factor for Seaside.
The Balers, who are playing all their home games at Rabobank this fall while their stadium is rebuilt, have won three consecutive games against teams a combined 2-10 in the Gabilan Division.
Juan DeLeon and Eric Green have both recorded 100 plus yard rushing efforts this fall for the Balers, while Slade Wilson is a running threat when behind center.
One thing the Balers must guard against is a letdown with Salinas and Palma on the horizon. One more win likely assures them of a postseason spot for the 10th straight season.
Dating back to last year, the Spartans have dropped eight straight games, just the second time that has occurred in the last 20 years.
