Thursday's game
Trinity (3-4) at Valley Christian Academy, Santa Maria (4-2), 5 p.m.
Having withstood the anguish of an 0-4 start, the Warriors have rebounded with three straight wins to climb back into the Pacific 8 league postseason chase.
Quarterback Nick Furman is coming off a four-touchdown effort for Trinity, having connected with Ryan Smith and Cameron Hill twice last week.
It's not a coincidence that the Warriors are 3-0 when Alex Cabinilia rushes for over 100 yards, while the defense continues to create opportunities with turnovers.
While this is a non-league game, the Lions have won three consecutive games as well, averaging 49 points a game in their four wins this season.
Tyler McCoy has thrown 14 touchdowns on 31 completions this fall for Valley Christian, with seven going to Andrew Sparlin. Adam Aldana has rushed for over 500 yards.
Trinity is 2-2 this season in games decided by seven points or less. The average margin of victory for the Lions in their last three games has been 35.1 points.
