Football rankings

1. Aptos: Is averaging 46.5 points in four Gabilan Division games.
2. Carmel: Making a case to move up into the Open Division III bracket.
3. Salinas: Has won 12 straight league games dating back to 2016.
4. Palma: Two turnovers in seven games is an amazing number.
5. San Benito: Three straight wins keeps them in the Gabilan title chase.
6. Christopher: Is just 3-19 in four stops in the Gabilan Division.
7. Monte Vista: Three of its losses are to teams a combined 19-1.
8. Alisal: Will need to win two of its last three to return to the postseason.
9. Monterey: Found a way to win a game it shouldn't have last week.
10. Gonzales: Has ended three lengthy losing streaks in its 7-0 start.
 On the bubble: Watsonville, North Salinas, Scotts Valley, King City.
