Friday's game
Pacific Grove (3-2) at St. Francis, Watsonville (3-2) at Santa Cruz High, 7:30 p.m.
Tight games have been a struggle for the Sharks, who lost one game on a safety, and the other on a late fourth quarter touchdown pass last week against King City.
You can't be any more balanced in running the ball than St. Francis, who has five different running backs with over 200 yards rushing.
Clearly throwing the ball has not been a priority for the Sharks, who have put it up eight times all fall. The percentage is good as three of the five completions have gone for touchdowns.
This is an underrated St. Francis defense, which hasn't allowed more than 16 points in any one game this season.
While Pacific Grove's defense has posted two shutouts, it has also given up 101 points in three losses on the field.
Blake Moore has had a pair of 40 plus yard touchdowns in two of the Breakers last three games, catching a 46 yard scoring strike last week from Freddy Albert.
Rushing for 230 yards in his first three games put a bulls-eye on the back of Anthony DaSilva, who has been held to 29 yards in his last two games for Pacific Grove.
The Breakers need better energy coming out for the second half, having been outscored 21-0 in the third quarter in their last two games.
