A season ending knee injury cut short Branden Pena's junior year last season for the East Carolina University football team.
The 6-foot-2, 288-pound offensive lineman was back on the field last week on national television for the Pirates, starting at right guard.
Pena, a three year starter at North Salinas High and an all-conference selection at Hartnell College, spent the spring platooning between center and guard for East Carolina.
