It’s been an auspicious first season for Aly Gomonet, who is hitting .288 and leading the UC Davis softball team in stolen bases this spring with 11.
Gomonet has appeared in 37 of the Aggies 38 games at shortstop. She’s second in runs scored (17) and third in hits (30).
She has also driven in eight runs this spring. Defensively, the freshman sports a .943 fielding percentage at shortstop.
Gomonet helped Notre Dame to three straight Central Coast Section Divisional softball titles and was The Herald’s Softball Player of the Year in 2016.
A teammate of hers at UC Davis is Notre Dame graduate Marisa Given, who is hitting .265 with one homer. Given has started 30 games and sports a .972 fielding percentage in the outfield.
