Moving positions for the third time in three years, sophomore Carter Aldrete is hitting .280 for the Arizona State baseball team.
A shortstop at Monterey High, Aldrete played second base last year for the Sun Devils. He’s third on the team in walks (14), and fourth in hits (33) and runs batted in (15).
The right-handed slugger also hit his first homer of the spring recently and sports a .900 fielding percentage at third base.
Aldrete was a four-year starter at Monterey, earning a spot on The Herald’s All-County team twice.
