Jordan Jones

Former Pacific Grove soccer standout Jordan Jones was invited to take part this week in the Major League Soccer combines in Orlando, Florida.

One of 60 players invited to the combine, Jones started the last four years at Oregon State as a forward, earning Pac 12 Player of the Week honors last fall.

A 2013 Pacific Grove graduate, the 6-foot-2 Jones took part in the San Jose Earthquakes mini-combine in December and in another combine in Las Vegas before the Christmas Holidays.

Jones lead the Beavers in goals last fall with six -- three of which were game winning goals. He finished with a team high 13 points in earning All-Pacific 12 second team honors.

He finished his career at Oregon State with 29 goals and four assists. Jones scored 30 goals as a junior at Pacific Grove in 2013, and was the Mission Trail Athletic League co-Most Valuable Player. He graduated early and enrolled at Oregon State.

The MLS SuperDraft will be held January 19 in Philadelphia.
