A 12-year professional basketball career overseas still has life in those legs for E.J. Rowland, as the 35-year-old point guard is averaging a league high 6.5 assists in the Turkish Basketball Super League.
The 6-foot-2 Rowland has helped the Eskiehir Basketball team get off to an 8-3 start this year with his playmaking skills, averaging 13.8 points and 3.9 rebounds a game.
A former VTB United League Most Valuable Player and scoring champion in 2013, Rowland is a facilitator that can light up a gym in a moment’s notice for Eskiehir.
Rowland, who prepped at Palma and led Hartnell College to a state finals appearance back in 2003, also helped St. Mary’s reach the NCAA Tournament as a junior in 2004.
In 2013, he led his squad to a Latvian Basketball League championship, earning postseason MVP honors.
