Evan Smith

For a player that wasn’t drafted and was cut three times, Evan Smith has put together a solid NFL career as an offensive lineman.
The veteran lineman has been Tampa Bay’s starting center the last quarter of the season. Prior to his arrival as a free agent in 2013 with the Buccaneers, Smith spent four seasons in Green Bay, and was a part of the Super Bowl XLV title team.
Signed by Green Bay after playing every line position at Idaho State, the former Salinas High multiple sport standout was cut twice by the Packers and later by Seattle before being resigned and eventually earning a starting job in 2013, snapping the ball to Aaron Rodgers.
Smith is one three former Monterey County athletes in the NFL, joining Seaside grad and Redskins linebacker Mason Foster and former Palma and MPC quarterback David Fales, who is a backup with the Dolphins.
