We're going to learn a little more about the Panthers this weekend as they compete in the Monterey Peninsula Classic, facing Irvine Valley in about two hours.
Hartnell is off to an impressive 3-0 start this winter, with the average margin of victory being 10.5 points a game.
While it's not the Panthers fault, the three teams they have beaten are a combined 1-16. Irvine Valley is 5-2.
Hartnell's defense has not allowed an opponent more than 66 points this year while erupting for 84 in one of its wins.
Three players are averaging over 18 points a game, including Alisal High graduate Jesse Hurtado, who sits a 18.1 points a game.
Sophomore Spencer Conrad is averaging 20.3 points a game for the Panthers while Dallin Mortensen made his season debut in the teams last game with a 20 point effort.
Irvine Valley, who is averaging 73 points a game, has lost two games to teams that are a combined 14-4. However, it hasn't beaten a team with a winning record as well.
