The Otters are still looking for their first home win under new coach Isaac Williams, as they host Humboldt State tonight.
Equally important is CSUMB can even its CCAA record with a win over the Lumberjacks, who are winless in conference play.
Both of the Otters wins this season have come on the road, including arguably its most impressive win last Sunday in a 80-72 non-conference decision over Dominican.
CSUMB has already equaled its entire conference win total on the road from last season after beating Dominguez Hills back on Nov. 18.
What the Otters have been this season is competitive. Three of their five overall losses have been by three, five and three points.
The return of Mateo Jones -- injured last year -- has certainly helped in the retooling of the program as the senior is dropping in 13.1 points a game.
The 6-foot-2 Jones also leads the team in rebounds (7.7) and steals (18), while shooting 40 percent from beyond the 3-point arc.
Sophomore Jahvon Johnson has started all seven games for the Otters, averaging just under 11 points a night while 6-foot-10 Greg Polosky sits at 8.4 points and 5.1 rebounds.
Seaside graduate Jonquis Bouyea has come off the bench to lead the Otters in assists at 2.9 while averaging nearly eight points a game.
