Palma football

So I suspect everyone is anxious to dump on Palma after its humbling loss to St. Francis.
After 32 straight postseason appearances, is the end in sight? Not so fast.
May I remind you that the Chieftains gave up 52 points in a opening season loss last year. Or the fact that they dropped their first two games last fall.
I think things turned out alright after that.
Now I'm not suggesting there isn't concern at Palma.
I mean a running clock was put into place in the fourth quarter when St. Francis built a 40-point lead.
 That's never happened.
This isn't the first time Palma has been beaten by a West Catholic Athletic League opponent. In fact, it has lost seven straight games to teams in the WCAL.
It knows the consequences of what could occur.
Bottom line. St. Francis has eight kids that could play Division I football next fall. Palma can't match that.
Than again, who can in Monterey County?
