Harker-Marina football

Friday's game
Harker (5-0) vs. Marina (1-3) at Monterey Peninsula College, 6 p.m.
The Eagles have taken flight this season, outscoring five opponents 217-19 in jumping out to the best start in the programs history.
Nate Kelly has thrown for 750 yards and 11 touchdowns for Harker, having yet to throw a pick in 65 attempts this season. Four receivers are averaging over 15 yards a catch.
Aaron Smith has provided a nice balance for the Eagles, having rushed for nearly 500 yards and nine touchdowns on the ground.
Defensively Harker has forced 12 turnovers this fall and has recorded 12 sacks, having shutout three teams.
The only previous meeting between the two teams came eight years ago when Marina fell 35-0 to the Eagles in its first game playing 11-man football.
Since a season opening win, the Mariners have dropped three straight, having failed to hold leads in two of those setbacks.
Marina gave once beaten St. Francis of Watsonville fits last weekend before falling 17-0. The Sharks average margin of victory had been 30 points.
