Alisal-Soledad football

Friday's game
Alisal (0-2) at Soledad (0-2), 7:30 p.m.
What's critical for the reigning CCS Division IV champion Aztecs is to not have a letdown after two humbling losses to open the season.
Confidence isn't the issue here. Soledad just faced arguably the two best teams it will see all season. That doesn't mean things get easier. The target is still on their backs.
The Trojans, who have dropped their first two games four straight years, have watched quarterback Andrew Marquez produced all four touchdowns -- on the ground.
Forced to play from behind in the second half is a difficult taste when you're a run oriented offense. Alisal has been outscored 37-13 in the first half.
Emmanuel Ortega is on pace for 264 carries over a 10-game regular season for Soledad. That is a lot of hits for the school's single-season rushing record holder to absorb in a season.
The Aztecs have started two different quarterbacks in its first two games with similar results. Teams are going to start putting nine in the box to stop Ortega.
Keep in mind that Soledad started 0-2 last year and finished 10-1, closing the season with six straight wins.
