Preseason volleyball rankings

1. Santa Catalina: The core from a program that started 27-0 last fall is back.
2. Salinas: A pair of powerful hitters at the net with a defensive minded coach.
3. San Benito: Coming off a 32 win season and a Gabilan Division title.
4. Monte Vista: Lost just two players from last year's 26 win team.
5. Carmel: Last three MTAL losses have come from Santa Catalina.
6. Notre Dame: Has played in the last three CCS Division V title matches.
7. King City: Grace Shepherd will be the focus of a lot of teams this fall.
8. Christopher: Returns five players that saw significant time last season.
9. Alisal: Reigning Pacific Division champs were bumped to the Gabilan.
10. Monterey: Will be a contender in the Pacific Division this fall.
 On the bubble: Stevenson, North Salinas, Alvarez, Seaside.
