With Coastal Athletic League Player of the Year Jamez Booker winning his appeal to play today for Trinity, this CCS DV quarterfinal game takes on a different view.
Booker, who was ejected after picking up two technical fouls -- the second coming late in the fourth quarter in Thursday's win over Jewish Community -- was cleared to play.
The CAL co-champion Warriors will still have their hands full against No. 3 seed Stevenson, who is clearly a different team with the return of Parker Olin.
Since the senior sharpshooter has come back from an elbow injury, Olin is averaging over 24 points a game.
The Pirates are 4-1 since his return, with their only setback being a three-point loss to Mission Trail Athletic League champion Pacific Grove.
Winston Elstob and Ben Stork have given Stevenson flexibility with its offense while Will Lansbury has been a demon on defense.
While Booker and his 24 plus points a game make Trinity's offense go, Deven Smith is coming off a 17-point effort with a handful of steals, while Shane Doughty was 5-for-5 from beyond the 3-point arc.
