Carmel-Menlo boys hoops

If the Padres are going to get back to the Central Coast Section Division IV finals, they will have to do it as the underdog, staring Saturday against No. 4 seed Menlo.
Carmel (17-8) opened the tournament with a 64-51 win over Harker of San Jose. But that was a 7-18 team. Menlo won the West Bay League with a 13-1 record.
Joe Foley is averaging nearly 17 points a game for the Knights while 6-foot-6 junior Riley Woodson has been a force in the paint with 13 double-doubles this winter.
Carmel has relied on a different player each game to carry the offense. Kevin Cook, Matt Luch, Joe Garello and Hayden Stachelek have kept opponents from focusing on one player.
The Padres are 10-1 in their last 11 games, with the one loss coming from MTAL champion Pacific Grove.
