Alvarez-Alisal boys hoops

It's conceivable that the Trojans could clinch no worse than a tie for the Pacific Division title tonight with a win and a Pajaro Valley loss.
The likelihood is the defending league champions (8-0) will have to wait another 48 hours to seal up their second straight title, assuming they take care of business on their end.
While the league title is the ultimate goal,  posting a second consecutive undefeated league season is in the back of Alisal's mind.
The Trojans are playing some of their best basketball right now, averaging over 80 points a game in their last two games. Every league win has been by 10 or more points.
Alvarez is looking to play the role of spoiler and create a little momentum going into the playoffs, showing some life last week with a win.
What makes Alisal imposing is the inside presence of Adriano Betancourt and Rene Hurtado, both of which are averaging nearly 15 points a game.
Sophomore guard Josue Gil-Silva is igniting the attack at the top with a team high 38 3-point goals while Vincent Gonzalez has provided another option on the perimeter.
Marc Flores and Michael Ramirez have been a mark of consistency all season for the Eagles, who are just 2-4 -- including 56-40 loss to Alisal on Jan. 13 --  after a 2-0 league start.
