For all the league banners hanging on the gym walls -- there are 10 over the last 12 years -- only one says undefeated.
Granted the Trojans have gone unbeaten on four other occasions, having mixed in a tie or two during those title runs -- two of which ended with Central Coast Section Division I crowns.
Perfection, though, means undefeated. With three games left in the Gabilan Division season, Alisal is chasing its first undefeated league season since 2006.
Owners of a 13-game unbeaten streak, the Trojans have climbed to No. 13 in the state by MaxPreps and No 51 in the nation.
Alisal has done it with defense, putting together a record breaking scoreless streak that had reached 11 games before being scored upon.
Goalie Eduardo Soto was been sensational between the posts for the Trojans, going over 700 minutes before allowing a goal.
During its current 13 game unbeaten streak, Alisal has outscored the opposition 24-3. David Tapia and Manuel Figueroa have combined for 10 goals while Jose Trejo has two goals and three assists.
