Palma football

Northern California Division 4AA playoffs
Friday's game
Campolindo (10-3) vs. Palma (10-3) at Rabobank, 7:30 p.m.
Had head coach Jeff Carnazzo had his way, there would have been no week off between the Central Coast Section Open DIII title game and this Friday's Nor Cal D4AA bowl game.
Yet, while other sections wrapped up their seasons, Palma took two days off and spent the rest of the week doing dress rehearsals for potentially five different teams, including Campolindo.
The time off re energized the Chieftains. Carnazzo noticed a little more pep in his players step this week, as workouts have been as crisp as the air outside.
"My kids were ready to play on Monday,'' Carnazzo said.
Kickoff remains on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Rabobank against North Coast Section Division II champ Campolindo.
Palma has won five straight games at Rabobank by an average of 27 points, including two playoff  games by 26 and 27 points.
No one has been able to contain tailback Emilio Martinez, who has rushed for nearly 2,300 yards and a county record 36 touchdowns in 12 games this fall. He did not play against Christopher.
Martinez has put together his best efforts in the postseason, having rushed for 815 yards, including a school record 308 yards in one game, and 12 touchdowns in three playoff games.
