The Aztecs are officially in uncharted waters. Never in the programs 18 year existence has it reached the Central Coast Section Semifinals.
Now Soledad -- who tied the single season school record for wins -- is one win from playing for the schools first section title in any team sport.
And the semifinal meeting with Gilroy next Friday will be in Soledad, where it has won six straight games and nine of its last 10.
It's been a redemption tour of sorts for the Aztecs over the last month, having avenged losses from the previous season to Pacific Grove and Silver Creek.
A defense that has recorded 50 plus sacks, was at it again against the Raiders, holding them to just a touchdown until late in a game that was no longer in doubt.
Soledad, though, is playing at a different level than it was just a month ago offensively, averaging 39 points a game.
Some of that has to do with quarterback Robbie Santa Ana, who had three touchdown passes to three different receivers in the win over Silver Creek.
Soledad has made adjustments, bold moves as the season has progress. Now it's reaping the rewards of chasing a vision that's no longer a dream.
