Friday's game
Seaside (2-0) at King City (1-1), 7:30 p.m.
Last week's 42-point outburst on the road may have convinced the Mustangs to ride with the white uniforms this week.
King City has won its last four road games, averaging 38 points a game. But it has dropped its last four home games sporting the blue jerseys.
Of course, it could also get on a bus and drive around the block if they're that superstitious going into its final non-league tune-up.
Seaside's defense has gotten the attention of its peers in a 2-0 start, having not allowed a touchdown in the last seven quarters.
DeMarcus Hawkins has been a beast coming off the edge for the Spartans with four sacks in his first two games while Daniel Sayre has two interceptions, returning one for a touchdown.
King City's defense forced four turnovers last week, using a Jonathan Perez 71-yard fumble return and two sacks from Abel Nava -- both of which forced fumbles.
Perez is a load running the ball for the Mustangs, chalking up 90 yards last week while quarterback Tommy Stephens is becoming a dual threat.
King City's defense has to contain tailback Keishawn Robinson and be aware of quarterback Malik Jeter at all times.
