Pajaro Valley-Monterey football

Friday's game
Pajaro Valley (2-3) at Monterey (1-3), 7:30 p.m.
Recharged after a bye week, along with momentum generated from snapping a three-game skid, the Toreadores have a new lease on life in the Pacific Division.
Outscored 157-35 in its first three games, Monterey scored more points in its last game (40) than it had all season.
Sophomore quarterback Evans Charles has thrown for 385 yards and five touchdowns this season for the Toraedores while rushing for two touchdowns.
Marcus Dorn Jr. has been on the receiving end of four of those scoring strikes, and has accounted for 365 yards in receiving and rushing yards.
Monterey will have its hands full on defense in containing Grizzlies tailback Omar Murillo, who has rushed for over 100 yards in all five games, totaling 726 yards and seven touchdowns.
Murillo is a workhorse, averaging 27 touches a game. Diego Navarro has scored three different ways for Pajaro, rushing for two touchdowns, returning a pick for six, and kicking two field goals.
Monterey, which turned the ball over 12 times in three losses, was guilty of just one turnover in its win over Marina.
