Friday's game
Greenfield (1-3) at Gonzales (0-4), 7:30 p.m.
The Spartans are giving up over 50 points a game. Last year Greenfield allowed 53 points in a loss to their south county rivals.
Hector Ramirez is on pace to rush for over 1,300 yards for the Bruins, with four of his team leading six touchdowns being 45 yards or longer.
Greenfield has had two games where it was turnover free and two games in which it turned the ball over eight times.
Locked in a tie last week with defending league champion Soledad, the Spartans gave up two scores in 75 seconds before halftime, crippling any thoughts of an upset.
If only the Spartans could erase the first quarter, where they've been outscored 68-6 this fall. Injuries have forced them to use three different quarterbacks this season.
Payton Flores has been a bright spot for Gonzales with nearly 400 receiving yards. Rodrigo Frias and Ramirez have had a hand in all but one of Greenfield's touchdowns this year.
