Marina-Carmel football

Friday's game
Marina (1-3) vs. Carmel (4-0) at MPC, 7:30 p.m.
Covossay Windham and Daniel Higman are both on pace to rush for over 1,000 yards this fall for the Padres, with Windham having chalked up 628 yards and 10 touchdowns.
Higman, who has not tossed an interception in over 100 attempts dating back to last fall, has thrown for 598 yards and six touchdowns while rushing for 426 yards.
Carmel has produced 40 or more points in three of its wins, while its defense has allowed 60 points all season.
Marina is allowing 41 points a game in three losses this year. Teams are stacking the box to stop the triple option, daring them to throw the ball.
The Mariners struggles can be pinpointed to horrific starts, having been outscored 97-16 in the first half this year.
Dating back to 2008, the Padres are 53-2 in the Mission Trail Athletic League -- 28-0 at home. This is considered a home game while their stadium renovations are nearly completed.
