Foothill-Hartnell football

Saturday's game
Foothill (0-0) vs. Hartnell (0-0) at Rabobank, 6 p.m.
The worst thing the state's No. 25 ranked team can do is look back at last year and see that Foothill was winless and is 4-26 over the last three years.
Hartnell has won 28 games over the last three seasons with three different quarterbacks. It's breaking in a new signal caller again this year in former Alaska Prep Player of the Year Dorion Isaak.
What it can fall back on this season is a potentially dynamic ground game with the return of Sherrod Hawkes and a healthy Marcus Washington.
Two years ago Hawkes rushed for over 1,400 yards for the Panthers while Washington chalked up nearly 600 yards in eight games last season.
The Owls produced just eight touchdowns last year. They gave up 50 or more points five times and were minus 13 in turnover ratio.
The Panthers defense will be anchored by Palma grad Eduardo Barbosa and linebacker Tymetrius Richburg, the teams top returning tackler.
Hartnell, who has won two bowl games in the last three years, is replacing eight starters on defense and five on offense.

SF stacked the box in the first half. Palma went to more passing in the second half and wasn't executing. They should have stayed with Emilio like in the first half at least in early downs. SF doesn't make one play to extend the drive after a long penalty and Palma would have won the game. It was that close. Of course, other plays could have determined the game, but Palma defense made a complete tournaround against a better team than the won they played the week before. SF defense is the best in the CCS.
