Alisal-Greenfield football

Friday's game
Alisal (0-2) at Greenfield (0-1), 7:30 p.m.
The Bruins have a new offense this season. As expected there are growing pains, as evident by five turnovers -- including a pick six -- in a 11-point season opening loss.
There were flashes that an aerial game can work in Greenfield as evident when Andrew Villagomez came off the bench and tossed a fourth quarter touchdown pass.
The Trojans record is somewhat misleading, having fallen to two teams from the Gabilan Division in North Salinas and Alvarez.
Yet, for the fourth straight year, Alisal has dropped its first two games. Then again, in the programs only league championship season in 2003, it opened 0-2.
Mistakes have been a thorn in Alisal's side as it turned the ball over five times last week. It has to do a better job of protecting the quarterback, who was sacked five times against Alvarez.
Hector Ramirez was a workhorse in the backfield for Greenfield last week with 158 yards, including a touchdown. He also ran back a kickoff 72 yards for six.
Two of the Bruins last three wins have come at home. Last season Alisal posted a 27-13 win in the teams first ever meeting.
